Orders
When will my order ship?
Orders placed by 1 pm Eastern on a business day usually ship the next business day, and every order ships within two business days. You'll get tracking by email.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Yes, if it hasn't shipped. Email support@nuthatchlane.shop with your order number as soon as possible and we'll update or cancel it.
Do you charge sales tax?
We collect sales tax on orders shipped to Georgia. Tax is shown at checkout before you pay.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Shipping & returns
How much is shipping?
Standard shipping is $6.95 and free on orders over $59. Expedited (2-3 business days) is $14.95 and Priority (1-2 business days) is $29.95.
Do you ship outside the U.S.?
Not at the moment. We ship to all 50 states, Washington DC and APO/FPO addresses.
What's your return policy?
Unused items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund of the item price. Damaged or incorrect items are replaced or refunded in full, shipping included.
Choosing and using feeders
Do you sell bird seed?
No — we carry feeders, houses, baths and hardware only. Seed is heavy to ship and fresher from a local feed store; our field notes explain which seeds suit which feeders.
Which feeder is best for a beginner?
A tube or hopper feeder filled with black-oil sunflower seed attracts the widest range of birds. Add a suet cage in winter and a bath all year.
How do I keep squirrels off?
Mount the feeder on a pole at least 10 feet from anything a squirrel can jump from, and add a baffle 4 feet or more off the ground. Our field note on squirrels covers the details.
When should I put out hummingbird feeders?
In coastal Georgia by mid-March, and in the Northeast by the third week of April. Leave them up in fall until two weeks after your last visitor.
Are your nest boxes ready to hang?
Yes. Every nest box we carry has ventilation, drainage and a way to open it for cleaning, and the listing tells you the entrance hole size.
